Rihanna's Primate Photo Leads To Arrests In Thailand

While on a break from her Diamonds World Tour, Rihanna spent a weekend at the beach in Thailand.

At a stop in Phuket, she posted a photo on Instagram of herself in sunglasses, with a furry primate known as the slow loris perched on her shoulder. "Look who was talkin dirty to me!" the pop star tweeted.

The animal, which is native to Southeast Asia, is listed as a protected species, according to the Associated Press.

Authorities, who apparently follow badgalriri on Instagram or at least have tipsters who do, arrested two people — a man, 20, and a boy, 16 — who provided the loris for the photo opp, Phuket district chief Weera Kerdsirimongkon told AP on Sunday.

Suspects

The Lagos State Police Command says it has smashed a kidnapping syndicate in the Okokomaiko area of the state.

Police authorities gave the names of the suspects as, Azuoma Nwabugoh, Chimobi Onuoha, Moses Okoh, Nwachukwu Nwandike and Michael Arinze.

PUNCH Metro learnt that the suspects were arrested after policemen attached to Ilemba Hausa Division recovered a vehicle belonging to a kidnap victim, Obinna Okpara.

It was learnt that after kidnapping the victim, the suspects allegedly sold the car to one Michael Arinze.

You know the irony is when people gossip about you, you are usually the last to hear it. The gossip must have gone round but I never heard about it. I can tell that I got to this position through hard work. I wasn’t just handpicked. There was an interview and I emerged the best. If people are saying that, it’s their problem. I am not saying that people are not talking about me, but I am saying that I do not care. I don’t even see this as the peak of my career. There is more for me to accomplish. I see this position as a normal police assignment just as I had worked in other departments before getting here – I worked in Interpol, Special Fraud unit, Intelligence Unit and IG monitoring Unit before I came to the Public Relations Unit.

There were feelers last night that the federal government has directed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to revoke all diplomatic passports in the possession of senators and members of the House of Representatives.
